INTRO
Does the world really need another tech podcast? Probably not, but we made one anyway! To promote our new show, Slated for Tomorrow, I was tasked with creating a cohesive visual look for everything from the studio decor to the social posts. This was a great opportunity to establish a brand identity, then extend it into a scalable design system.

challenge
In a media landscape saturated by podcasts, how might we use visual design to remain true to the brand of our parent company while still breaking through to new listeners?

SOLUTION
By combining market research with stakeholder interviews, extensive visual exploration, and templated designs, I was able to establish a distinctive and scalable visual system to define and promote our show.

SHAPE AND IMAGE
After researching the visual branding for popular podcasts, I started by selecting a color palette and establishing a basic shape language. With these granular elements established, I created a series of logo lockups—keeping an eye on accessibility, of course—then experimenting with photography and image treatments.

sOCIAL TEMPLATES
As a new podcast, Slated for Tomorrow needed a wide variety of templates to reach across social channels and promote the release schedule for each new episode. I designed these to fit a range of styles, some tailored more for a LinkedIn audience, others leaning towards a TikTok aesthetic. This system has enabled our marketing team to easily update and publish posts for each episode.

WEBSITE
Lastly, I designed a minimalist website with a video player that would act as a repository for episode content and social links. The site is simple, easy to update, and immediately recognizable as a touchpoint of the larger branded ecosystem.

CONCLUSION
The development of this branding package was a great opportunity to take a project from the early ideation phase to a complete design system.
